Abstract:

In this article, we try to model the airspace congestion so that we may be able to know the influence of different parameters such as horizontal and vertical separation norms on the french airspace congestion. Therefore, we had to create a Test Bench to simulate the traffic of a whole day. This Test Bench is performed on data coming from flight plans. The data used are the flight plans of december 11, 1992 before regulation and represent the real demand of airlines. After a description of the Test Bench, we will define some measures of the airspace congestion. The third part deals with the numerical results obtained and gives a modelling of the airspace congestion. In a fourth part, we show how the modelling would be modified if we use direct routes in flight plans.
