iFLY

POM : Planification, Optimization, and Modelization

The project

iFly is a research project financed by the European Commission (contract number TREN/07/FP6AE/S07.71574/037180) which objective is to develop both an advanced self-separation design and a highly automated ATM design for en-route traffic, taking advantage of autonomous aircraft operations capabilities. The aim is to handle 3 to 6 times more traffic than today.

For more details, see the iFly website.

POM contribution

The POM team contributes to WP7. Using speed-up monte-carlo simulation methods, rare events (e.g. airmiss) occuring in a context of autonomous aircraft flying in a highly automated environnment are modelized.
